The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide (6-0) return to action this weekend as they host the Kentucky Wildcats in SEC action.

Alabama had an unexpected bye week last week due to the LSU Tigers having an outbreak of COVID-19.

Kentucky enters this week’s game at 3-4, fresh off a 38-35 win over Vanderbilt.

The Crimson Tide and Wildcats don’t have a rich history, as Kentucky plays in the SEC’s East division, while Alabama plays in the West. The two teams last met in 2016 when the Crimson Tide took down Kentucky by a score of 34-6.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 20 of 33 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns in that game. Josh Jacobs rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, while Calvin Ridley had 11 receptions for 174 yards and two scores.

The Crimson Tide lead the all-time series 37-2-1 and have won the previous six meetings. Kentucky’s last win over Alabama was a 40-34 victory back in 1997.

This series dates all the way back to 1917 when Alabama won the first meeting, Kentucky’s only other win over the Crimson Tide was in 1918.
