Kentucky women’s basketball up three spots in USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

Kentucky women’s basketball is up to number 16 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Last week saw both the Kentucky men’s basketball team and the Kentucky women’s basketball team get huge victories. The men took down the Duke Blue Devils on Tuesday. Then, on Saturday, Kenny Brooks and his squad beat Louisville in overtime.

The Wildcats women’s team played a close game until the extra period, but dominated in overtime to win by ten points. The victory jumped them up three spots in the new USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll to number 16 overall.

Kentucky is now the fifth highest ranked team from the SEC in the coaches poll. South Carolina leads the way and the Texas Longhorns are also in the top five. Seven SEC teams are ranked in the top 25, and three more also received votes.

The Wildcats’ next game is on November 26th, when Kentucky takes on Arizona State. They also play 22nd ranked Illinois before the month is over.
