Kentucky women’s basketball played its last non-conference game of the season on Saturday. They took on in-state opponent Western Kentucky, and like the men’s team, took down the Hilltoppers 88 – 70.
The win puts the Wildcats at 11 – 1 on the season as they prepare to head into SEC play. They’re ranked 15th in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, and 16th in the AP Top 25 poll. There’s no doubt that this has been one of the best starts to a season in some time.

On Saturday, Kentucky was led by Clara Strack, who continued here terrific season with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Georgia Amoore also scored 21 and added 9 assists. Teonni Key and Saniah Tyler also scored in double figures with 15 and 11 respectively.
As a team, the Cats made 52% of their shots in the game, and dominated on the boards, 41- 26. It was another fantastic team performance and Kenny Brooks continues to have them looking very good.
The Wildcats begin SEC play on January 2nd against Mississippi State.
