Kentucky women are back to a familiar spot in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

Kentucky women’s basketball are back to 16th in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Kentucky women’s basketball won their only game of this past week, beating Western Kentucky 88 – 70. However, in the new USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, they still dropped a spot back to 16th, a spot they have been in before.

In the November 19th poll, the Wildcats jumped to 16th. They stayed at number 16 for four consecutive weeks before moving up one spot. They were at 15th for a few weeks, but now, they’ve dropped back again.

Kentucky is the sixth highest ranked team from the SEC. In all, seven teams from the conference are in the top 25, with South Carolina leading the way at number two. The LSU Tigers are third, and the Texas Longhorns are sixth.

Kenny Brooks has the Cats playing very well. They’re 11 – 1 entering SEC play, and look like on the nation’s better teams. If they can keep it up versus conference foes, they’ll make their way up and out of the 16th spot in the polls.
