It was a big week for the Kentucky Wildcats football team who traveled to Oxford, Mississippi and took down Ole Miss 20 – 17. It was a massive upset, and one that got noticed by poll voters. In the new AP Top 25 poll, the Wildcats received some votes.
Like the US LBM Coaches Poll, Kentucky’s big win garnered votes in the AP Poll. They’re outside the top 25, but certainly moved up in the rankings. They come in as the 35th ranked team.

Just like the Coaches Poll, the SEC dominates the AP Top 25. The Alabama Crimson Tide moved into the top spot after beating Georgia this week. The Texas Longhorns are number two, with the Tennessee Volunteers at number four and the Bulldogs at five.
Overall, the SEC put eight teams inside the top 25. Two other teams received votes, including Kentucky. The Wildcats are on a bye in week six, and will watch and see how the rest of the SEC fares.
