Kentucky target Isaac Sowells commits to North Carolina State

Kentucky football target Isaac Sowells committed to North Carlina State on Thursday.

Kentucky football and coach Mark Stoops have reason to be happy about their recruiting efforts in the 2025 class, as most services have them in the top 20 now. ESPN has them as high as 18th. They’ve landed a number of their targets over the past month and a half, but did miss out on one on Thursday, as Isaac Sowells committed elsewhere.

Sowells, a three-star recruit out of Louisville, chose to commit to North Carolina State over the Wildcats. Miami and Louisville were also teams trying to land the 6’2″, 295 lb offensive lineman.

Stoops and his staff would have loved to land Sowells, but they have landed multiple offensive line recruits already. Darrin Strey is the highest rated of the group, but Jermiel Atkins, Tucker Kattus, and Bryan Auguste all committed to the Cats.

Kentucky’s coaching staff rightfully places a lot of importance on the offensive line, and making it an elite unit. Sowells won’t be a part of things for the Wildcats, but they have a solid group of recruits to work with going forward.
