Kentucky stays at ten in the AP Top 25 poll after a week off

Kentucky basketball stays at number ten in the AP Top 25 poll after the Christmas break.

Kentucky basketball hasn’t played since their CBS Sports Classic loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes. That was nearly 10 days ago. With most teams taking the Christmas holiday off, there weren’t a lot of changes in the rankings. The Wildcats dropped a spot in the coaches poll, but in the new AP Top 25 Poll, they stayed at number ten.

At 10 – 2, Kentucky has surprised most people, and have been ranked in the top ten for the past few weeks. Their current ranking has them fifth of the teams from the SEC.

Like the coaches poll, the Tennessee Volunteers are at the top of the rankings, with the Auburn Tigers right behind them. The Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Gators are the other two teams in the top ten. Overall, ten SEC teams are ranked.

Kentucky plays its last non-conference game on Tuesday, then begins conference play in January.
