Kentucky stays a top three seed in the latest ESPN Bracketology

Kentucky basketball is a three-seed in the newest edition of ESPN’s Bracketology.

The New Year has brought with it the newest edition of Joe Lunardi’s NCAA Tournament Bracketology projection, which features yet another high ranking for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Kentucky Basketball is ranked as a three seed in Lunardi’s latest edition of Bracketology.

In this edition, they’ve been placed in the Midwest, and would play 14-seed Kent State in the opening round. The winner would then advance to play whoever comes out of 6-seed Purdue and the 11-seed bubble game between SMU and Drake.

It’s another edition of bracketology where Kentucky features as a three seed, as the Wildcats were seeded the same in Tuesday’s edition.

They’ve continued to slip after a shocking 85-65 loss to Ohio State in the CBS Sports Classic, although the Wildcats did finish out the year strong with an 88-54 win over Brown on New Year’s Eve.

As the season has progressed, Lunardi has now moved to a twice-weekly publishing of his tournament projection. They will now release every Tuesday and Friday, with the next edition slated for January 7.

The Wildcats will continue to decide their own tournament fate as they head into SEC play. Their next matchup is slated for 11 a.m. tomorrow against the Florida Gators at Lexington’s Rupp Arena.
