Kentucky remains unranked in the new Associated Press top 25

Kentucky football did not receive any votes in the week four Associated Press top 25.

Behind big games from wide receiver Dane Key and two rushing touchdowns from Demie Sumo-Karngbaye, the Kentucky Wildcats offense got back on track this week. The Cats won 41 – 6 on Saturday versus Ohio, but it didn’t affect the voters for the Associated Press poll.

Just like the US LBM Coaches Poll, the Wildcats didn’t garner any votes this week. The SEC as a whole is represented very well, however.

The Texas Longhorns sit atop the AP top 25, with the Georgia Bulldogs at number two. Like the Coaches poll, three more SEC teams come in inside the top six with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee Volunteers, and Ole Miss Rebels in that order.

Four more SEC teams are ranked in the top 25 for a total of nine. South Carolina and Arkansas also received votes.

As for Kentucky, they play Ole Miss next week. A win against a team of that caliber would likely get them some votes in next week’s polls.
