Entering the 2024 season, quarterback Brock Vandagriff was hoping to resurrect his career with Kentucky football. Now, just a year later, he has decided to hang up the cleats and retire from the sport of football.
After the season ended, most people anticipated Vandgriff transferring to another school, but he never entered the transfer portal. Rumors began to circulate that he was retiring, and it was confirmed by Jon Hale of the Lexington Herald-Leader through a UK spokesperson.

Vandagriff was a top recruit coming out of high school. He was ranked as the 34th overall player by 247sports, but some services had him even higher. He committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, but never won the starting job there, and transferred to Kentucky.
In 2024, Vandagriff struggled to consistently create offense. He completed 57% of his passes just under 1,600 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Kentucky will have a new quarterback next season, with Zach Calzada joining the Wildcats from the transfer portal. As for Vandagriff, Big Blue Nation wishes him the best in whatever he does next.
