After beating Southern Miss 31 – 0 in their season opener, Kentucky football came in inside the top 30 in the US LMB Coaches Poll. The Associated Press wasn’t as impressed, though.
In the new AP poll released this week, Kentucky received just two votes, and would be in a tie for the 41st ranked team in the country. The other teams with two votes are West Virginia and Arkansas.

The SEC is well represented in the poll, with five of the top ten teams. Georgia leads the way, but Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Missouri are all near the top of the poll. The Wildcats are ranked 12th out of the 16 teams in the conference.
Kentucky plays their first SEC game this weekend against South Carolina. A win might get them a little higher in the AP top 25, which most fans would argue that they should be already.
