Kentucky is out of the running for a 2025 five-star recruit

Kentucky basketball was eliminated from contention for 2025 guard Braylon Mullins.

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope has started out hot after landing both Malachi Moreno and Jasper Johnson. He’s working hard on a few other highly rated recruits as well, but one recruit won’t be on that list. Braylon Mullins has eliminated the Wildcats from consideration.

Mullins is currently the 16th ranked player in the 2025 class according to 247sports. He’s rated five stars, and is the number four shooting guard in the class.

On Tuesday, Mullins cut his list of potential schools down to three. Those three are Connecticut, Indiana, and North Carolina, with Kentucky, Kansas, and Duke among the programs that were eliminated.

There was some hope that Mullins could be lured to Kentucky to play with Moreno, who he had played with in the past. Instead Pope and his staff with move on to other players, such as guard Acaden Lewis and forward Caleb Wilson. Good luck to Braylon Mullins, wherever he winds up.
