Kentucky holds as a four seed in new ESPN Bracketology

Kentucky remains at the same seed in ESPN’s newest Bracketology

The Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team went 2 – 0 last week, but neither game was easy. It took a last second buzzer beater from Reed Sheppard to beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Then, the Cats had to come from down nine points in the second half to take down the Arkansas Razorbacks.

As a result of winning two games, but struggling in both, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi keeps the Wildcats as a four seed in his newest Bracketology. He does move them over to the Midwest Region this week.

Kentucky would face Appalachian State in round one of Lunardi’s projection, with Clemson or Richmond waiting in round two. Purdue is the top seed in the Midwest, and would be a potential Sweet Sixteen match-up.

Marquette and Baylor are the two and three seeds in the Midwest respectively, and could be Elite Eight opponents. Wisconsin and Dayton also reside in that region.

The Wildcats have a huge game with the Tennessee Volunteers coming up, and then the SEC Tournament. They’ll try to use those games to move up to an even higher seed before March Madness begins.
