Kentucky football target Dawayne Galloway chooses Purdue

Cornerback Dawayne Galloway chooses Purdue over Kentucky football.

It has been a fantastic past few weeks for Kentucky football, who have landed multiple four-star recruits, including top 100 overall recruit Cedric Works. They were hoping to land one more, but cornerback Dawayne Galloway committed to Purdue on Friday.

Galloway is the number 204 overall player in the 2025 class according to 247sports, and is the number 22 cornerback. They had him as the 9th ranked player from the state of Ohio.

Kentucky’s coaching staff has had a lot of success this offseason recruiting in Ohio. Out of 17 current commits, seven of them are from the Buckeye State. Galloway would have been the eighth.

The Wildcats have two commitments already at the cornerback position. Both Andrew Purcell and Demarcus Gardner are already committed for 2025, and maybe that factored into Galloway’s decision. Mark Stoops and Big Blue Nation would have loved to land him, but they have a terrific class overall, and fans will be ready to see them on the field next year.
