Bishop Hendricken senior edge rusher Rushaune Vilane from Warwick (Rhode Island) took his time choosing the next step of his football journey. That journey continues with Vilane announcing his commitment to the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
The 2024 recruit made his decision after giving it plenty of though. Vilane wanted to get it right.
It was a long, patient ride. I didn’t rush the process even though I wanted to.
Vilane is one of the last players to sign for the 2024 recruiting class. The Rhode Island native also held offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and over 15 other FCS schools before choosing the Wildcats.
In 2023, Vilane had 28 tackles, 3 sacks and a forced fumble. He is not ranked by any major recruiting service, but has good athleticism and size at 6 foot 3, and 235 pounds. He is a project, but one that could turn into gold at the next level for Mark Stoops and that Kentucky defense.
