This week, Mark Stoops and Kentucky football landed a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Nicholas Smith. On Saturday, the received a prediction to land another edge rusher in the form of Cedric Works.
Works is a top 100 player in the 2025 recruiting class according to 247sports. He’s the 11th ranked edge rusher in the class, and ranks as their sixth player in the state of Ohio. Both 247sports and On3 are projecting Works to commit to Kentucky.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators have each made offers to Works as well, and he visited the Gators earlier in June. He also visited Penn State in May. His visit to Lexington occurred on Friday, after which the predictions that he’s join the Cats were made.
Kentucky is putting together a solid recruiting class for the 2025 season. They have already added three players with four-star ratings, and Works would be a fourth. The athletic edge rusher would be a fantastic addition, and could be the next in a line of very good pass rushers to come to Lexington.
