Kentucky football loses a running back target to Missouri

Louisiana-Monroe transfer Ahmad Hardy has chosen Missouri over Kentucky football.

When Kentucky football lost 2025 four star recruit Marquise Davis to Missouri, coach Mark Stoops and his staff went into the transfer portal for a replacement. One running back they targeted was Ahmad Hardy, formerly of Louisiana-Monroe.

Hardy rushed for more than 1,300 yards last season and had 13 touchdowns. When he entered the transfer portal, he immediately become one of the top running backs available, and Kentucky reached out to set up a visit.

Now, however, Missouri has struck again. Hardy went to visit the Tigers, and committed to them while he was there. He announced the decision on the social platform X, formerly Twitter.

Kentucky, meanwhile, will have to change directions on the running back front. They have some talent there, but are thin, and could use a veteran who can be a lead back for them. With Hardy off the board, fans will have to see who the Wildcats target next.
