After upsetting Ole Miss on Saturday, Kentucky football got back over .500 for the season, and got votes in both the US LBM Coaches Poll and in the AP Top 25 Poll, though they didn’t crack the top 25 in either.
Kentucky did, however, break into a different top 25 ranking. ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) jumped the Wildcats up 15 spots to number 23 overall after their win over the Rebels.

The FPI uses simulations, results so far, and remaining schedule to rank the teams based on strength. Kentucky’s score is a 9.5, and is the highest of any team with two losses.
Along with their ranking, Kentucky is now given an 82.5% chance to win six games, and a 2.8% chance of making the College Football Playoff.
Eleven SEC teams were ranked in the FPI top 25 this week. Kentucky is number ten of those teams. They have a bye week in week six, then host Vanderbilt before taking on the Florida Gators.
