Kentucky football getting a visit from an All-Conference wide receiver

Kentucky football will get a visit from former Louisiana Tech receiver Tru Edwards.

Coach Mark Stoops has a difficult task ahead of him. The 2024 roster lost a large number of players to the transfer portal, but nowhere was hit harder than the wide receiver room. With the loss of Hardley Gilmore, they lost 3 big pieces to that unit.

The staff hit the transfer portal looking for help and added J.J. Hester and Kendrick Law. They’ll need more help, though, and are now targeting former Louisiana Tech receiver Tru Edwards.

Edwards had a breakout season in 2024, recording 84 receptions for 986 yards and 6 touchdowns. His reception total led Conference USA and he was named a first team All-Conference USA receiver for his production.

At 6’3″ and 200 lbs, Edwards has terrific size and good hands. He would certainly be a nice addition and potentially be an instant starter for a revamped receiving unit.

A decision hasn’t been made yet, but Edwards will be visiting Lexington on January 5th. It would be great if they got a commitment while he was there.
