Last week, Kentucky football received a prediction to land edge rusher Cedric Works. This was terrific news, as Works is a very talented, and highly ranked player. He’s the kind of player that the Wildcats don’t often get. On Thursday, he became a Wildcat.
Works is a top 100 players in the 2025 class according to 247sports. They have him as the number 86 player overall and the 11th ranked edge. The four-star prospect is another Ohio native, which is a place Kentucky has recruited well.

Mark Stoops and his staff are putting together a very talented recruiting class for 2025. Works is the fourth recruit with a rating of four stars, and is their second addition inside the top 200 overall players.
Kentucky has been a good team for several seasons, and a regular bowl team. The next step would be to get more top recruits to compete with the teams at the top of the SEC. Getting a player like Works is a step in that direction.
