Last week was a major step forward for the Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team. They won both games, including a huge victory over a very good, and ranked, Auburn team. They played great defensively, and many though that it would potentially catapult them into a winning streak down the stretch. The LSU Tigers had other ideas.
Kentucky’s defense was not able to match the intensity it had against Auburn, and the Cats went through several offensive lulls in a loss to LSU by a score of 75 – 74 on a last second basket. The overall play was reminiscent of their games earlier in the season, with defensive lapses and the inability to get enough rebounds.
Antonio Reeves led the way for the Wildcats. He crossed the 1,000 career points mark in this one, and finished with 25 points. Rob Dillingham had a big second half, and added 23 points. Nobody else had double figures.
As always, Big Blue Nation had a lot to say after the game. Here are some of their thoughts after a close loss.
