Murphy’s law was in full effect for Kentucky football on Saturday night in their game against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Everything that could possibly go wrong, somehow did, as a comedy of errors resulted in a 20 – 13 loss that will go down as one of the worst in recent memory.
Penalties were just the beginning of the mistakes for Kentucky. They were charged with 12 of them for 105 yards, many of them wiping out plays that could have changed the game. The offensive line was charged with multiple holding penalties, and a false start probably wiped out a touchdown

The loss not only left fans angry, and coaches potentially on the hot seat, it also killed the momentum the Wildcats had established. A Kentucky team that had begun to receive top 25 votes now finds themselves on the outside again. In the US LBM Coaches Poll, Kentucky, not surprisingly, didn’t receive a single vote.
The rest of the SEC continues to fare well in the Coaches Poll. The Texas Longhorns remain in the top spot with the Georgia Bulldogs in the top five. Eight teams are in the top 25, while two more, including Vanderbilt, received votes.
