Kentucky basketball targets class of 2026 recruit Dakari Spear

Kentucky basketball has reached out to 2026 recruit Dakari Spear.

The 2025 recruiting class hasn’t even taken shape yet, but Kentucky basketball is already working on 2026, including contact with multiple players so far. On Sunday, fans heard that guard Anthony Felesi had been contacted, but they have also spoken to guard Dakari Spear, per Kentucky Sports Radio (subscription required).

Spear is currently ranked as the 46th overall player in 2026 by 247sports, and is their 10th ranked shooting guard. The four-star recruit is the second ranked player from the state of Texas.

Other SEC teams have also taken notice of Spear, and he already has offers from the Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, and Alabama Crimson Tide. Those offers have all came in the past month.

As with any 2026 recruit, commitments are a long way off, so fans will have to wait to see how it plays out. However, it’s encouraging to see Mark Pope and his staff continue to target top players in multiple classes.
