Wildcat basketball continues to rise, as evidenced by the latest NCAA Tournament projection from ESPN expert Joe Lunardi.
In Lunardi’s most recent edition of Bracketology, released this morning, the ESPN expert had the Kentucky Wildcats rising to a three-seed.
In Tuesday’s edition, the Wildcats had fallen to a four-seed after losing to unranked Georgia 69-82.
However, the Wildcats turned things around in a major way. They knocked off ranked Mississippi State 95-90 in Starkville on Saturday night behind a stellar bounce back performance from Jaxson Robinson.
They’ve been paired with 14-seed Akron in the Midwest region. Should Kentucky come out on top, they would play the winner of 6-seed Wisconsin and the 11-seed play in game between Dayton and Creighton, per the projection.
The next edition of Lunardi’s Bracketology will release the morning of Friday, January 17.
Prior to that release, the Wildcats will pay against 11th-ranked Texas A&M. That matchup is slated for tonight at 7 p.m.
