Kentucky basketball has offered a 2026 five-star recruit

Kentucky basketball has offered a scholarship to 2026 top recruit Brandon McCoy Jr.

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope hasn’t yet landed a recruit in the 2025 class, but that hasn’t stopped him from looking ahead to the 2026 class. He has now made an official scholarship offer to one of the best players in that group in guard Brandon McCoy Jr.

McCoy is currently the top ranked player in the 2026 class in the 247sports composite rankings. The 6’4″, 170 point guard is also rated as the top player at his position.

As the top player, McCoy has already received several offers from top schools. Duke, Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisville, and several others have all made offers, and more will before he has to make a decision.

Kentucky basketball fans are waiting to see just how good Pope is as a recruiter, as they’re used to top classes. Time will tell how the new coach does, but he’s trying. Landing McCoy would be a big deal for him, and for fans.
