Kentucky basketball has been in contact with 2025 guard Cayden Boozer

Kentucky basketball has been in contact with top 20 recruit Cayden Boozer.

Mark Pope’s first recruiting class will be an important one for the new head coach of Kentucky basketball. Wildcats fans are used to elite talent heading to Lexington, and expectations are high. Pope and his staff have been in contact with a number of the top recruits for 2025, and added another by reaching out to Cayden Boozer.

Boozer is a 6’3″ point guard from Miami, Florida, and is the son of former NBA player and Duke Blue Devil Carlos Boozer. He is rated four stars by 247sports and is their 16th ranked player overall.

In an interview with Zagsblog, Boozer listed Kentucky as one of the schools who have been recruiting him, even though he has only spoke to Pope once so far. He had this to say:

I’ve only gotten one phone call. I don’t know much about his program. But we’re just trying to build that relationship and I’m trying to learn more about [Mark Pope’s] program. Kentucky is a great school, national championship school. I think it has the most national championships, I’m not sure. It’s up there, so I mean, they are a really good school and a really good winning program.

Boozer’s brother Cameron is also a 2025 recruit, and both were recruited by John Calipari before he left for Arkansas. The brothers could choose to play together, but it isn’t a requirement. Time will tell if Pope and land one, or both, of them for 2025.
