It was a week with no action for Kentucky basketball, whose last game was an ugly loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes at the CBS Sports Classic. Despite not playing a game, though, the Cats dropped a spot in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.
Kentucky stands at 10 – 2 on the year and their 11th spot in the rankings is good for sixth in the SEC, which has five of the top ten teams.

The Tennessee Volunteers still lead the way, with the Auburn Tigers in the number two spot. The top nine all stayed the same as last week. The Wildcats drop comes because the Oklahoma Sooners jumped up a spot after a win on Sunday.
Overall, the SEC placed nine teams in the coaches poll, with three more receiving votes.
Kentucky plays again on December 31st, and then begins conference play on January fourth in a big matchup against the Florida Gators, who are undefeated.
