Kentucky basketball decommitted center Somto Cyril commits to Georgia

Center Somto Cyril has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs after decommitting from Kentucky basketball.

Somto Cyril a  6-foot-10, 245-pound big man out of Atlanta (GA) Overtime Elite has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. He previously decommitted from the Kentucky basketball program.

Cyril, a former Kentucky signee under John Calipari, is ranked as the nation’s No. 44 overall prospect by the 247Sports Composite and the No. 9 center. He is rated four stars.

Cyril had this to say about his decision:

On my visit to Athens, Coach White and his staff were very detailed in their approach and it was a great feeling being in a place that had such a family environment.

He also declared for the NBA Draft. His reason was simple:

I want to take this time to get some much-needed feedback from NBA teams during the month of May. This will allow not only myself and my family to have the information, but it will also provide my coaching staff with information about me as well going into the 2023-2024 season.
