Kentucky baseball suffers a game two blowout to the Florida Gators

Kentucky baseball took a big loss to the Florida Gators on Saturday.

After a wild game one with the Florida Gators, the Kentucky baseball team hoped to make it two straight on Saturday. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, things did not go as planned.

Florida jumped out to an early lead, beginning with a run in the second inning. They were up by four at the end of the fourth. Devin Burkes drove in the only Wildcats run in the fifth inning, but it was all Gators after that. They scored six more runs in the later innings and it ended up as a 10 – 1 defeat for Kentucky.

The pitching for the Cats struggled once again. Dominic Niman started the game and gave up six runs through four innings of work. Offensively, Burkes drove in the only run and had two hits. Kentucky only had five hits total.

With the series even at a game apiece, Sunday’s finale will determine the series winner. The game will take place in Gainesville at 12:00 PM ET and can be seen on the SEC Network.
