Kentucky baseball rises again in the latest USA TODAY Sports coaches poll

Kentucky baseball ranked number three in new USA TODAY Sports coaches poll.

Kentucky baseball has been one of the best teams in the country this season, and coming off a series win against a top five Arkansas Razorbacks team, they got another series win against the Florida Gators. Another strong week has them rising even higher in the polls.

In the newest USA TODAY Sports coaches poll, the Wildcats are up inside the top three, behind only the top-ranked Tennessee Volunteers and the aforementioned Razorbacks. Another SEC team, Texas A&M, is fourth. Four other SEC teams are in the top 25.

Kentucky’s record stands at 37 – 11 currently and they’re an impressive 20 – 7 in conference play. They have one more series, with Vanderbilt, left before the season ends. The SEC Tournament awaits after that.

The Cats are one of the early favorites to win the College World Series this season, and some analysts think they’ll be the top overall seed in the postseason. Big Blue Nation has had a lot to cheer for with this year’s baseball team, and they might have a lot more before it’s all over.
