After losing in blowout fashion on Friday night in game one of their series with the Arkansas Razorbacks, Kentucky baseball got another shot in game two on Saturday. This time, things would be the other way around.
Arkansas jumped out to a two-run lead in the second inning, but Kentucky scored three in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. They poured in on from there.
The Cats scored four in the fourth inning, two of which came on Emilien Pitre’s second hit of the game. In the eighth, Kentucky added four more, with the big blow being a bases-clearing double by Nick Lopez. Arkansas would score one run in the ninth to make it an 11 – 3 final score.
Pitre went 2-for-3 with four RBIs in the game, while Nick Lopez also drove in four. On the mound, Dominic Niman was terrific, giving up just two runs in 5.1 innings. The bullpen had a much better game as well, and gave up just the one run.
Game three of the series will be on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET. It can be viewed on SEC Network+.
