Kentucky baseball beat Missouri to get the series win on Sunday

The Kentucky Wildcats baseball team had a seven game winning streak interrupted on Saturday when the lost to the Missouri Tigers. On Sunday, they got back on the winning side.

Missouri got on the board first by plating a single run in the first inning, but Kentucky answered quickly. The Wildcats put three up in the second inning with Grant Smith driving in two of the runs.

The Tigers answered back with three unanswered runs before Kentucky tied it again at four. The Wildcats then broke it open in the sixth inning with three more runs to go up 7 – 4. The Tigers would add two to get close, but Kentucky would hold on for a 7 – 6 victory.

Grant Smith was the star of the day. He went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs. Nick Lopez and Ryan Nicholson also had two hits apiece.

The Wildcats play a game against Miami (OH) on Tuesday, before a weekend series with Ole Miss. The Miami game will be played on SEC Network+.
