Kentucky senior Oscar Tshiebwe on Friday announced he will declare for the 2023 NBA draft while retaining the right to return to school next season.
Tshiebwe was a consensus second-team All-American after averaging 16.5 points, 13.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals and one block. He led the country in rebounding for the second straight year and set a program record with 25 boards against Providence in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The 6-foot-9 forward once again was one of the top frontcourt players in Division I. He ranked second in the country in total rebound percentage (23.6) and was 15th in win shares (6.6). In just two years at Kentucky, Tshiebwe already ranks sixth in program history with 952 total rebounds.

Tshiebwe enters the pre-draft process not projected to be selected in either round. However, he will have the opportunity to improve his stock in private workouts with teams. He also figures to be a candidate to compete in the draft combine or G League Elite Camp.
He will have until May 31 to withdraw from the draft and return to school.
