While much has been made about LaMelo Ball’s on-court ability, his popularity will factor into how teams rate him as a prospect. No prospect is as popular this year as Ball and none will draw as much buzz and interest as he will next season.
NBA TNT analyst Kenny Smith was asked recently in a New York Post interview to describe Ball.
LaMelo Ball, he may be able to have your building be electric if his potential pans out.
Ball will be able to fill any arena he plays in and that could be a huge boost to his draft stock. A place like Madison Square Garden could see the electricity and excitement return to the building while somewhere like Detroit and Little Caeser’s Arena could have that excitement for the first time in a long time.
The excitement that Lonzo Ball drew to the Lakers in Summer League and into the regular season can serve as an example as to the driving power of the Ball family. LaMelo could come in and give whatever team drafts him that type of boost. And if it all works out like Smith said, he could become one of the biggest stars in the game.
