Kennedy Chandler discusses injury in Team USA’s victory.

Tennessee basketball player Kennedy Chandler avoided a series injury Saturday.

Chandler, an incoming freshman for the Volunteers, took a hard fall during a FIBA U19 World Cup semifinals game. Chandler posted on social media he hopes to play in Sunday’s championship tilt against France in Latvia.

“Thank you to everyone who expressed concern for me,” Chandler said on Twitter. “By the grace of God, I escaped with no serious injuries and I am just a little sore. Please continue to support my teammates and I as we have one game left for the U-19 championship.”

Before exiting from the semifinals, Chandler recorded seven points, five assists and three rebounds as Team USA defeated Canada, 92-86.

Team USA will play France in the U19 championship game.

Tipoff is slated for noon EDT and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
