Just how amazing has Steph Curry been recently?
So good that he has the power to get an on-air pundit to apologize.
After his latest performance — 49 points on 50 percent shooting, 10 threes (that’s double-digit threes in four of his last five contests) and five dimes in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers — former NBA player and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins tweeted an apology for anything negative he’s ever said about Curry.
That’s pretty amazing, right? I did a little looking around and couldn’t find any specific instances of him calling out Curry. But it did remind me that Perkins got into it with Curry in 2018 while the big man was with the Cleveland Cavaliers. And you notice that Perkins didn’t say “I apologize for everything I did.” HA!
Hey @StephenCurry30 anything that I’ve ever said negative about you I apologize Sir! What you are doing on the court and the game of basketball is beyond LEGENDARY!!! Another 49 piece spicy with the W. I was just jealous because you were light skin and I’m not! Carry the hell on.

Let’s take you back to 2018, when an incident in the NBA Finals led to a heated back-and-forth (remember “Much ado about nothing?”):

“I don’t know why people keep wanting to pick battles this way,” Perkins said back then. “Might want to choose that [expletive] wisely, man, [rather] than [bleeping] with me. I don’t think I’m the problem that they want, though, might want to pick another battle.”
Maybe Perkins had this in mind with his apology?
