Kendrick Nunn will see his guaranteed salary increase on Sunday

Kendrick Nunn has been a revelation this season for the Heat and the guard has been among the top first-year players in the NBA.

Undrafted rookie Kendrick Nunn has been a revelation for the Miami Heat and the guard has been among the top first-year players in the NBA this season.

After putting in the work to become a full-time starter for head coach Erik Spoelstra, Nunn is averaging 16.4 points, 3.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 18 games played. He is third among rookies in scoring average, first in field goals made and first in 3-pointers made.

On Sunday, Nunn will see his guaranteed salary increase from $300,000 to $450,000 at 5 p.m. ET, as noted by ESPN front-office insider Bobby Marks. Nunn originally signed a three-year, $3 million contract on the last day of the 2018-19 season that has various guaranteed dates.

His $1.4 million salary becomes fully guaranteed on Jan. 7.

Given his production this season, the Heat picked up a bargain in Nunn.

The Heat have been among the best teams in scouting players and utilizing their development system in the G League and Nunn is the latest player to take advantage.
