Miami Heat guard Kendrick Nunn and Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant have been named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month for January, the league announced on Tuesday.
Nunn averaged 16.8 points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 11 January games and shot 50.7% from the field, including 37.5% from 3-point range. The undrafted guard from Oakland recently returned to the lineup after missing three games due to an Achilles injury.
Meanwhile, Morant averaged 17.5 points, 8.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 15 games while he shot 54.2% from the field. Morant, along with Nunn, was selected to play in the NBA Rising Stars Game at All-Star Weekend on Feb. 14.

As perhaps the top two rookies this season, Nunn and Morant have earned NBA Rookie of the Month honors each of the three times it has been awarded. Morant leads all first-year players in scoring and assists while Nunn is second in scoring and fourth in 3-pointers made.
