After leaving the Miami Heat at the Wide World of Sports Complex on Friday, rookie Kendrick Nunn reportedly rejoined the team on Sunday, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.
The departure by Nunn was not related to the coronavirus as the Heat classified his absence due to personal reasons. Nunn had daily access to COVID-19 testing and will only be required by the NBA to be quarantined for four days.
Nunn will miss the Heat’s next two games — Monday against the Indiana Pacers and Wednesday vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder — while in isolation and could be cleared in time to play on Friday against the Pacers, the final game before the start of the playoffs next week.
Nunn initially did not travel to Disney with the Heat and joined the team at a later date after testing positive for the coronavirus. The team maintained that Nunn leaving the bubble is unrelated to COVID-19 and is strictly due to personal reasons.
Nunn has made four appearances with the Heat during the season restart and is averaging 7.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He has struggled with his shot since arriving at Disney, converting on 32.4% of his attempts from the field and 25% (5-of-20) from 3-point range.
