Kendrick Bourne learned this valuable lesson in win over Jaguars

Kendrick Bourne noted he has to take smarter hits.

During the New England Patriots win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, wide receiver Kendrick Bourne learned a valuable lesson.

Bourne played a big part in New England’s victory, catching six passes for 76 yards. in addition, he ran the ball twice for 17 yards. Bourne also learned to be more cautious when running across the middle of the field.

The wide receiver began to spin out of a tackle attempt from one Jaguars defender. However, linebacker Jimmy Jones made sure he finished the play. Jones initiated contact with his helmet, and managed to get Bourne down.

In his media availability on Wednesday, the wide receiver noted he had to be more cautious in regards to the hits he takes.

“I didn’t know that guy was there. He was running from behind me so when I spun, that’s when I saw him, when I finally like turned halfway. And then boom,” Bourne said, via CBS. “But that was definitely the hardest I’ve ever been hit. But it was like cool, because I’ve never been hit that hard. So I was like, ‘OK, now I know what not to do and when to do it.’”

Bourne will look to continue his contributions in the Patriots passing game, as the Patriots wrap up the regular season against the Miami Dolphins. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM.
