[autotag]Kelvin Gastelum[/autotag] will return to action this summer.
The middleweight contender meets [autotag]Jack Hermansson[/autotag] on July 18 in a card set to take place on the UFC’s “Fight Island,” the location of which has yet to be disclosed. MMA Junkie confirmed the fight with sources with knowledge of the situation after an initial Wednesday report by ESPN.
This fight marks Gastelum’s (15-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) first bout of 2020. The winner of “The Ultimate Fighter 17” last competed in November, where he lost a split decision to Darren Till at UFC 244 in New York. Gastelum is currently on a two-fight skid, having lost to Israel Adesanya in an interim title bout prior to the Till defeat in a matchup most considered one of the best of 2019. Gastelum is currently ranked No. 7 in the UFC’s middleweight rankings.

Meanwhile, Hermansson (20-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) will also look to bounce back from defeat. The 31-year-old was last seen in September where he lost to Jared Cannonier via TKO. Prior to the Cannonier loss, Hermansson was on a four-fight wining streak. He currently sits at No. 6 on the UFC’s middleweight rankings.
