PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Kelsey Grammer, best known for playing the role of Frasier Crane on the long-running sitcoms Frasier as well as Cheers, was spotted outside SHI Stadium tailgating before the Rutgers football game on Friday night.
The critically acclaimed actor was spotted at the tailgate of Jeff Towers, a prominent and influential Rutgers fan.
The bit of humor in this celebrity sighting is that in both Frasier and Cheers, the character played by Grammer was a bit of a snob who didn’t like sports. in the show Frasier, it was his father Martin Crane who was the everyman who loved his sports and frequently carried around a foam finger covered in nacho cheese.
Although it was his brother Niles Crane who was the Seattle Sonics MVP for giving therapy to a star player in one episode of the show. In addition, Niles, also not a sports fan, sank a halfcourt shot in another episode.
