Kelly Oubre Jr. urging Sixers to get back to who they are after loss

Kelly Oubre Jr. is urging the Philadelphia 76ers to get back to who they are following a tough home loss to the Utah Jazz.

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers suffered their second consecutive loss with a 120-109 loss to the Utah Jazz on Saturday night. Philadelphia held the Jazz to 8-for-30 shooting from deep, but allowed Utah to shoot 57.5% from the floor overall due to their 72 points in the paint.

The Sixers will have a few days off before their next contest, a road matchup with the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. That will offer coach Nick Nurse some practice time for his squad to correct some mistakes.

Kelly Oubre Jr., who had 24 points in the loss, is looking forward to getting back to work. He is ready to correct the issues the Sixers have to work on.

“Honestly, yeah, we definitely need a day off, but we definitely need to get into the gym and get better,” said Oubre after the loss. “Fix the (expletive) and get it right. Come back the next game back to our normal selves. I don’t think we’ve been ourselves these last two games and it’s obviously shown in our results.”

The Sixers are better than what they have shown in the previous two games. They had a tough time offensively in the loss to the New York Knicks on Friday and then were unable to find an offensive rhythm nor get any stops against the Jazz.

“It’s time to get back,” Oubre finished. “We’re human beings. Everybody has off days and things like that, but it’s definitely unacceptable to lose two in a row and where we’re trying to get to.”
