On Saturday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves were in town to take on the San Antonio Spurs. The Anthony Edwards-led Timberwolves, who now sit in second place in the Western Conference, had lost two of their last four games. Meanwhile, the Spurs were riding the high of a win and looking to complete their second two-game win streak of the season.
Led by Devin Vassell and Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs were able to take home a 113-112 win over the Timberwolves, as Karl-Anthony Towns missed what would have been the game-winning shot. However, nothing that happened in the game was the star of the night.
Just two minutes into the game, with Manu Ginobili in attendance, ironically enough, a bat flew out onto the floor of Frost Bank Center. Play was called off as The Coyote ran out to try and catch the bat. Once he succeeded, the game got back underway.
After the contest, Keldon Johnson spoke about the incident.
“I know my lane,” Johnson said via ESPN. “Like, I’m borderline scared of the dark … so, the bat? That’s something like, nah, that ain’t really up my alley. I was more scared.”

Everyone on the floor was entertained by The Coyote’s festivities and eventual capture of the bat. That said, nobody went anywhere near it for fear of having to go through the same Rabies shots Ginobili had to endure after he swatted it down.
Vassell led the Spurs in scoring with 25 points, four rebounds, and five assists while Wembanyama put up 23 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
