KNOXVILLE — A University of Tennessee football recruiting target made his 2020 season debut in Knoxville last night and things didn’t go well for him or his team.
Wide receiver Karson Gay and the Boyd Buchanan Buccaneers played their first game of the 2020 campaign and came up on the short end of a 45-28 decision against Webb School of Knoxville at David Meske Stadium.
Gay had two receptions and amassed just 15 yards for the Bucs in their season-opening loss to Webb in Knoxville.
The Spartans, who have had a few players land at Tennessee and play for the Volunteers, including Andrew Craig and Todd Kelly Jr., improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in Division II-AA East play.
Gay has offers from Tennessee, Ole Miss and the University of Southern California.
