Kamu Grugier-Hill, the Houston Texans’ newly acquired outside linebacker, made an appearance on Hawaii’s KHON2 news for a virtual one-on-one interview with Sports Director Rob DeMello.
During his interview, Grugier-Hill took time to express his excitement about joining the Texans — stating that he told his family and agent if he ever got the chance to play for a team in Texas, he would take it.
“I’m so excited,” Grugier-Hill said. “My family knows this and my agent knew this, but I always told them that if I get a chance to play for a team in Texas I would take it immediately.”
Grugier-Hill said joining the Texans is the most excited he has been about joining a new team.
The 26-year-old Hawaii native is joining the Texans on a one-year deal worth $3.25 million. Grugier-Hill played the 2020 season with the Miami Dolphins, where he recorded 28 tackles (21 solo hits), a sack, and a fumble recovery in 15 games.
Prior to his lone season in South Bench, Grugier-Hill played his first four years with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2016-2019.
