Lions wide receiver and punt returner Kalif Raymond had himself an impressive 2022 season. Raymond set a career-high in offensive production in his second year in Detroit.
Where he really thrived was in the return game. Raymond earned second-team All-Pro honors at punt returner, and he was the only NFC player to return a punt for a touchdown all season.
Those accomplishments earned Raymond some serious bonus incentives. His agent representation indicates Raymond picked up over $1 million in contract bonuses in 2022 on top of his two-year, $5 million contract he signed last offseason:
So proud of #kalifraymond earning ALL PRO HONORS! #hardworkpaysoff
All the hard work earned him over $1 MILLION in incentives/escalators! 💰💰💰💰💰💰

The exact figures are not specifically broken down, but SI’s Albert Breer reported in December that Raymond had these incentives in play:
• Lions WR Kalif Raymond gets $250,000 each for 50 catches, 600 receiving yards and five touchdown catches. He’s at 40, 510 and zero in those categories. He also gets $150,000 for 300 punt-return yards (he’s at 248) and $25,000 for every punt return touchdown.
Raymond finished the season with 47 receptions for 616 yards, plus 264 punt return yards and a TD return against the New York Jets. Raymond won NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for that effort, and that’s a typical bonus trigger.
