Justyn Ross placed on IR

The Chiefs place Justyn on Injured Reserve, ending his season.

Former Clemson wide receiver Justyn Ross was dealt some tough news.

According to Ari Meirov at PFF, the Kansas City Chiefs have placed Ross on Injured Reserve, ending his rookie season before it could begin.

Ross was a standout at Clemson but dealt with multiple injuries that set his career back and led to him going undrafted. After having foot surgery back in November, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced last Friday that Ross underwent another surgery with the expectation of opening the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list for the start of training camp.

It looks like things have taken a turn for the worst however as the team has now elected to place him on the IR.

Though undrafted, Ross was impressing the Chiefs coaching staff and starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes this offseason which led to a lot of hype surrounding the young wideout.

Ross’ next opportunity to make an impression in the NFL will be the 2023 season.
