Justin Thomas launches sun care brand ‘WearSPF,’ portion of all proceeds go to the Justin Thomas Foundation

Justin Thomas had a melanoma scare in 2019 and has now launched a sun care brand called ‘WearSPF.’

On September 12th, 2019, Justin Thomas revealed on social media that he went through a procedure to remove a small mole on his left leg that was in the early stages of melanoma.

Now, less than three years later, the 8th-ranked player in the world has launched a sun care brand called “WearSPF.”

The line currently offers six products: Sunscreen Spray; Sunscreen Sport Stick; Mineral Sunscreen; Essential Sunscreen; Lip Balm; and After Sun Cleanser.

“My scare with melanoma was a real wake-up call for me and why I decided to partner with veteran consumer goods managers to launch WearSPF,” Thomas said in a press release.

On the WearSPF website, there is a page with helpful information about self-checking your body, as well as getting into contact with a dermatologist. There’s also a FAQ about reapplying sunscreen, how much should be used, among other things.

WearSPF has partnered with the Justin Thomas Foundation and a portion of all proceeds go directly to the foundation. The JTF “positively impacts children in need,” according to WearSPF’s website, “junior golf, and military families with the intent of helping all achieve their full potential.”

Many golfers don’t take sun protection seriously. Always wear sunscreen out on the course and get checked if something on your body doesn’t look quite right.
