Justin Madubuike ties NFL record of 11 straight games with at least a half-sack

Another week, another sack for Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Justin Madubuike.

The fourth-year defensive tackle tied the NFL record of 11 straight games with at least a half-sack with his strip sack against Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the Ravens’ 23-7 victory on Sunday Night Football.

Madubuike now has 12 sacks for the year, with three games remaining on the schedule for the regular season. The 2020 third-round pick is gearing up for a massive payday this offseason as he is currently set to hit the open market as a free agent.

Spotrac.com currently has a three-year calculated market value of $55.3 million, with an average annual salary of $18.4 million for Madubuike. Meanwhile, overthecap.com says the franchise tag for defensive tackles in 2024 is estimated to be $19.7 million.

Following the game, Madubuike revealed that his goal for the season is to hit 15 sacks. Madubuike currently leads all interior defensive linemen in sacks this season and is ninth among all players in the league.

Baltimore will have to make tough decisions this offseason, with several key players hitting free agency looking to cash out, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.
